We know that joining a running club can be a bit daunting, but we’re a friendly and welcoming bunch, and always delighted to see new faces. There are members of all abilities in the Club too with no pressure or expectation to attend every session or event. Monday training takes place on Hutchesons’ Grammar School track, so it’s flat, well-lit and has an excellent surface. Wednesday evenings involve running on local street routes or parks.
You can review our Try Running with us page for details, and review our typical training schedule and estimated session duration, to ensure it’s suitable for you. Note the minimum age for joining our club is 18.
Trying out the club
We operate a registration system for training attendance. As a first time or guest member, please check the ‘First time/trialling‘ checkbox so we know to look out for you. Please introduce yourself on your first night. Have a read of our welcome letter if you haven’t already and our ‘Try Running with us‘ page with more details about what to expect at training.
Becoming a member
After you’ve tried a few sessions to make sure we suit, we’d love you to join the club. We have a membership fees structure which can either be paid monthly (via direct debit) or annually (via direct debit, card or bank transfer). We also offer concessionary rates.

Membership is made up of a small membership fee, and a contribution towards the operational costs of the club (room hire, track access, coaching courses, subsidised races, etc), typically based on how much training you want to do with us. Prices start from £4.37 per month (or even lower with concession rates) that we think makes us one of the best value running clubs in Glasgow. You can even save a bit if you pay annually, and if you’re a UK tax payer you can help by ticking ‘Gift Aid’, which at no cost to you, means the club can get a bit more out of the membership fee part! See our webcollect membership platform for more details.
How to get to Clydesdale Cricket Club
Please use the Traveline Scotland website to decide what is the best transport option for you.
Clydesdale Cricket Club is situated directly adjacent to Hutchesons’ Grammar School, Beaton Road, and is very close to Maxwell Park, Crossmyloof and Pollokshields West train stations. There are several bus options too from the main arterial routes in the south side. If you’re driving, please be considerate towards local residents and where possible park on streets a bit further away (Terregles Avenue and Dolphin Road are close by and generally have more free street parking). You can of course walk, jog or cycle to the venue!
